Central Anatolia’s locals celebrate a number of festivals that

Central Anatolia as we all know is one of the regions of Turkey
famous for a lot of things. Among many of the things famous here,
one more thing which attracts tourism is the festivals that are
organized here in this region. A number of festivals are organized
here each year in which people from various countries and cultures
take part by visiting Turkey.
A very famous festival celebrated in the month of March in Ankara is
the International Film Festival. The World Mass Media Research
Foundation of Ankara organizes this festival each year. This film
festival lasts for a long time. Quality films from throughout the
world are brought and showed up here in this festival.
A great festival celebrated in the month of May is the Yunus Emre
Culture and Art Week in Eskisehir. This festival is celebrated in
the memory of the Turkish poet named Yunus Emre who has written a
number of poems and had did great work in literature that people of
Sarikoy love. He was a believer of love and many people act upon his
views.
Kakava is also a very well-known festival season that is held in the
month of May. It is the event of the Romans who used to live in
Turkey. The Turks celebrate this festival with great zeal. Fire is
lighted and old furniture is burnt in it. Picnic is enjoyed at the
waterside and lamb or goat barbecue is served at the eve of the
festival. Dance is also a special part of this festival.
One of the most common festivals that have great historical
importance is the Javelin Games festival that is organized in Konya
in the month of September. Javelin is the traditional game played by
the people of Turk from centuries. This is a horse riding game which
became a part of the culture when the Turks invaded in the Central
Anatolia. Turks considered horse a scared animal and they used to
spend much of their time with their horses. They also used to drink
the milk of horses.
There are many other festivals that promote tourism Turkey and
invite people from several regions to become a part of the various
celebrations held here in this country.
Another really important festival celebrated in Central Anatolia is
the International Grape Harvest Festival. It is organized in Urgup a
place where there are a number of grape fields from which wine is
produced and sold in many regions.
Many other festvials such as the Eskisehir International Festival,
the Ahi Brotherhood Cultural Week in Kirsehir and IhIara Tourism and
Art Week in Aksaray are some other festivals that are celebrated in
Central Anatolia.
